Sleeping Giant Schoolis seeking a qualified Instructional Paraprofessional (Title
1) for the 2026/27school year.

PAY RANGE
$26.11 - $30.00, depending on experience. Based on a maximum of 9years' experience,see salary schedule here.
This is a full-time position, with 173 work days, based on school schedule.

• Works with the Intervention, Title 1 teacher and General Education teachers to determine the instructional needs of each Title 1 student.
• Attend informal meetings with Title I teacher/ Intervention teacher or classroom teacher re: specific student needs.
• Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials and skills initially introduced and outlined by licensed staff.
• Creates lesson plans for one-on-one or small group instruction based on student needs using research- based programs as identified by the READ Act.
• Implements instruction based on students' goals from individual learning plans ( READ Plan, IEP, and/or 504).
• Modify grade-level curriculum to best target student needs.
• Administers reading and math assessments to identify the level of student achievement.
• Maintains student files as required by the needs of federal, state, and local guidelines to track student progress.
• Assists the Title 1/ Intervention teacher or classroom teacher with gathering a variety of data that is needed for reporting to local, State and/or Federal agencies.
• Monitors work, corrects papers, and supervises curriculum-based testing and makeup work as assigned.
• Communicates goals and academic expectations to all involved in student progress.
• Performs clerical and instructional duties as assigned by licensed staff.
• Alerts licensed staff to any problem or special information about an individual student.
• Ability to impact student achievement through mentoring, motivation, and monitoring practices. Utilize strategies in supporting students' academic program in reading and math
• Develops and maintains a Title 1 classroom environment that is conducive to effective student learning, including management of discipline and student conflict.
• When requested, serves as a resource person to the General Education Intervention Team.
• Understands, accepts, and abides by the Steamboat Springs School District philosophy and mission statement in all school activities.
• Participates in professional development, building, and district meetings as requested.
• Ability to maintain discipline and manage conflicts between students.
• Works professionally and cooperatively with others to achieve duties and responsibilities
• Able to work the schedule assigned and be regularly in attendance at work, and on time.
• Assists with the planning of activities for Title 1 Parent Involvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Required:
  
  Bachelor's, or Associate's degree, or min 48 hrs course work at an institution of higher education
• Or a High School Diploma or GED,
  and proof of passing the ETS Parapro with a minimum score of 460 or higher.
• Or High School Diploma or GED
  and
  proof of passing the ACT Workkeys with the minimum passing scores:
