Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN

LPN or RN School Nurse Position

Salary: $216/ day Deadline: BSD accepts ongoing applications for substitute roles

OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a passionate energetic LPN or RN to work with a student who requires 1:1 support in the school environment and classroom. This position requires a licensed nurse who is familiar with tracheostomy care, G-tube and enteral feedings, and has solid assessment skills. We have a supportive and committed staff, a wonderful student, and a positive inclusive environment waiting to welcome you to the team.

We are looking for an individual who has a flexible schedule to work as a temporary substitute for this position. There is potential for this to become a permanent substitute position. • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• High School diploma.
• Maintain a valid Colorado driver's license.
• Submit fingerprints for a criminal background check.

• Assistance with transfers and activities of daily living.
• Positively impact student achievement, using appropriate instructional strategies and strong knowledge of the appropriate curriculum and content area.

• Medical background with LPN certification.
• Experience:
  
  Nursing 1 year on Pediatrics

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
• Licensed Practical Nurse

• Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Power School, Word, Excel, Google).
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; willingness to communicate frequently with families regarding school curriculum and student progress.
• Knowledge of and deep belief in inclusion in the general education classroom for all students, including those on an IEP and/or learning English.
• Dedication to high standards of excellence and the success of all students; ability to personalize instruction for students so that all are challenged to learn.
