Description
The Aspen Science Center's (ASC) mission is advancing public understanding of science through lifelong discovery, exploration, and education, and is recognized as the premier organization promoting and facilitating public understanding of and engagement in science throughout the greater Roaring Fork Valley. The Aspen Science Center seeks an energetic part-time bilingual (English/Spanish) educator to join our team in developing, delivering and translating engaging, hands‑on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education programs and events for youth, families, and adults.
Based in Carbondale, ASC serves communities from Aspen to Parachute. Aspen Science Center (ASC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer. - Ability to create and maintain a structured work environment with disciplined on‑task time management, planning, record keeping, correspondence, and follow‑up.
- Ability to work and deliver programs in a variety of settings and locations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate confidently with a range of constituents including Board, staff, donors, partners, clients, program participants of all ages, vendors, other non‑profit, government and business leaders.
- Innovative and resourceful program manager. Creative problem solver.
- Ability to pack, transport, set‑up/take‑down a range of program equipment/materials.
- Reliable transportation for program development, administration, and delivery.
- Experience in instructional curriculum development and delivery, program materials inventory and management, staff supervision, collaborative teamwork, evaluation.
- BA/BS in Science, Science Education, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Candidates with experience in Early Childhood/PreK and/or K-5 classroom education preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Current residency in the Aspen to Parachute region, or ability to secure housing if not a current resident.
- Somewhat flexible schedule
- Some hybrid work available
