Combustion Turbine Plant Manager
Responsible for achieving functional area/corporate goals and objectives in the most cost-efficient manner through effective planning, organizing and controlling of the combustion turbine (CT) facilities. Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all CT facilities, including administration, operations, maintenance and regulatory compliance.

- Supervise, motivate, and direct CT Foreman, Technicians and other assigned personnel.
- Implement and maintain a CT Operations Qualification and Apprenticeship program while collaborating with Gas Generation Apprenticeship committee and other training requirements.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and guidelines.
- Oversee crew work schedules, call-out schedules, and maintenance of all CT functional area calendars.
- Responsible for approving time-off, intra-functional area travel, off site travel and conducting annual reviews and monthly check-ins for CT Foreman.
- Collaborate with the Gas Generation Planning to oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of outage related work including unit outages, forced outages, curtailments, and major maintenance events.
- Evaluate, coordinate, and oversee site schedules, outage projects, implementation of work assignments of plant mechanical, electrical and instrumentation and control projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with Generation Engineering to complete capital projects and engineering-based O&M work activities.
- Oversee the creation, when applicable, and completion of Management of Change (MOC) projects in the Cority system. Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Environmental, Safety and Compliance to maintain a robust MOC Program.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Monitoring and Analytics Center to provide routine monitoring, evaluation, testing and analysis reporting of plant equipment including trend and vibration analysis, infrared, Doble testing and other predictive maintenance analyses and testing technologies for the purpose of improving site availability, reliability and determining required repairs and modifications.
- Collaborate with and assist Gas Generation Planning to develop and maintain all maintenance practices and procedures for the CT functional area. Conduct periodic inspections for all CT functional area locations to ensure compliance with the accepted standard and practices.
- Sponsor the Gas Generation WACS/OFS Adoption Committee and oversee the transition into WACS/OFS and Unifier including the development of asset databases, PMs, work scheduling, and LOTO.
- Lead and sponsor a shift to Reliability Centered Maintenance for all CT facilities.
- Maintain a list to track progress on implementation of all Technical Information Letters (TILs) and insurance recommendations.
- Work with Gas Generation Planning and CT Foreman in the power plant purchasing and inventory system for tools, supplies, spare parts, and fuel usage.
- Coordinate station functions for the Combustion Turbines with other company functional areas (e.g., Generation Engineering, Energy Markets, Environmental, Compliance, Safety, Purchasing, Legal, Accounts Payable, Employee Services, and other related functional areas.)
- Monitor substation/site switching operation and safety.
- Maintain safety standards and observance of safety rules by all co‑workers and contractors. Propose changes for additional safe work practices, and SOPs that are applicable to the CT fleet.
- Collaborate with Safety to improve important procedures such as Loan Worker, Confined Space Entry, etc. and sponsor the Gas Generation Safety Committee.
- Respond to site emergencies such as fires, wind damage, spills, or injured employees.
- Monitor station logs, records, and other documentation. Collaborate with CT Foreman to and oversee the use of Elogger for maintaining station logs and records.
- Oversee monthly O&M financial forecasting, variance reporting and the development of the annual CT O&M budget.
- Improve project structure and charging accuracy within the group to minimize budget variances.
- Support Generation Engineering to develop, schedule and budget capital projects.
- Ensure adherence with all applicable FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Reliability Corporation), and WECC (Western Electricity Coordinating Council) compliance at the Combustion Turbines.
