PhD Intern - Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing Theory

Position: PhD Intern - Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing Theory - 632
Location: Broomfield

We are seeking a PhD Intern in Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing Theory in our Broomfield, Colorado location. All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.

Key Responsibilities:

* Apply previous experience in research to help measure and improve quantum computers using trapped ions as qubits

* You will work alongside teams of scientists to bring new concepts to life.

* You will be responsible for working in a research environment to collect data on system performance, characterizing device characteristics, and propose methods for improvements.

YOU MUST HAVE:

* Currently enrolled in a PhD program

* Graduating on/after December 2026

* Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status

* Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:

* 2+ years' experience (PhD inclusive) involving one or more of the following areas: atomic physics, quantum benchmarking, quantum information, quantum computing.

* Experience performing simulation and modeling to inform experiments

* Experience with constructing quantum circuits

* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results within their field of research

$24 - $35 an hour

Compensation:

Non-Incentive Eligible

Estimated Salary Wage: $ 24/ hr. to $35/ hr.
