Senior Electrical Engineer

The Gogo Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical design, validation, and testing of embedded inflight entertainment and telecommunications system products. The engineer must independently create high‑quality designs using engineering fundamentals and technical concepts while following our robust design process.

• Work as part of an integrated development team designing and testing digital, analog, and RF hardware and developing functional test methods.
• Perform schematic and layout activities, board bring‑up, verification/validation testing, technical documentation, failure analysis, and sustainment of current circuits and systems.
• Capture schematics (Cadence OrCAD) and prototype bring‑up of embedded hardware designs including x86, ARM, and FPGA.
• Manage component selection and bill of material from design to new‑product introduction and sustaining support.
• Apply PSOC or low‑power microcontroller coding experience.
• Design high‑speed, power‑supply, and power‑input protection circuitry for aviation or aerospace hardware.
• Review and validate schematic capture and PCB layout activities.
• Design, bring‑up, and test embedded circuits such as processors, onboard DDR memory, RF circuits, and peripheral IO interfaces.
• Develop, execute, and document verification, validation, and stress testing of electrical hardware (ethernet, USB, aircraft interfaces, PC/embedded components, proprietary microcomputers).
• Design system hardware to meet RTCA DO‑160 and DO‑254 standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot integrated hardware/RF/firmware/software problems and implement corrections.
• Collaborate effectively within a small team, contributing from prototype to product release, including specifications, requirements, and design reviews.
• Perform qualification and certification testing (DO‑160, DO‑254, FCC).
• Develop and support hardware test methodologies for in‑house operations.
• Manage electrical component release and BOM using PLM systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of rugged hardware and/or avionics experience with circuit design and simulation.
• Familiarity with PC architecture, interfaces, and peripherals.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, programmable power supplies, and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating system environments.

• Avionics industry experience; DO‑160 or MIL‑STD design experience.
• DO‑254 process experience for embedded hardware.
• PSOC or low‑power microcontroller coding experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and coding/scripting experience.
