About the Role
Mechanical Engineer - Motion Safety is responsible for supporting new product development, manufacturing process improvement, and engineering initiatives across the Motion Safety product portfolio. The role will support projects from concept through production implementation and post-launch support while driving improvements in safety, quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Support new product development across concept, prototyping, testing, production, and post-launch improvement
- Design and improve products using Solid Works and engineering analysis to optimize performance, manufacturability, and materials
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive customer-focused improvements and resolve technical issues
- Drive manufacturing and process improvements by analyzing workflows, equipment, and layouts to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost
- Develop and standardize processes including work instructions, documentation, and process controls to support operational consistency
- Support Lean, tollgate, and continuous improvement initiatives, including problem-solving and efficiency improvements across operations
- Lead value engineering and cost optimization efforts through design changes, material alternatives, and process improvements
- Evaluate tooling, equipment, and suppliers to enhance manufacturing capability and throughput
- Support multiple engineering and manufacturing projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and coordination stay on track
- Promote safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or related Engineering field required
- 3-5 years of engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, or product development environments
- Experience supporting manufacturing process improvement and product development initiatives preferred
- Experience with fabrication, welding, prototyping, or machine shop operations preferred
- Proficiency with Solid Works or similar CAD software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $120,000. The actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance the overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and its business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
