R&D Optics Engineering Technician

Location: Broomfield

Our client, a leader in advanced optical systems and precision manufacturing, is seeking an Engineering Technician - R&D Optics to join their innovative team. As an Engineering Technician - R&D Optics, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the Research & Development team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Around $32/hour with flexibility depending on experience level*
* ** What's the Job?*
* + Assemble opto-mechanical devices, including optical components, mechanical housing, and associated hardware and cabling.

+ Inspect incoming components, including custom machined parts, for defects and ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

+ Maintain accurate assembly records, including inspection and test reports and assembly logs.

+ Provide feedback on design or process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

+ Assist in prototype assembly, rework, and developing detailed assembly instructions, travelers, and alignment procedures for development and production use.

** What's Needed?*
* + High school diploma or GED required;
Associate or bachelor's degree in physics, Optical Engineering, or a closely related field preferred.

+ Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a high precision optical/opto-mechanical manufacturing or production environment.

+

Experience with precision optical alignment and handling optical fibers for at least 2 years.

+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed procedures accurately.

+ Proficiency in using measurement devices such as calipers and micrometers, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
