Where You Will WorkEmployees will work on‑site at the Climax Mine, located between Frisco and Leadville, Colorado. Employees required to work on‑site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
What You Will Do- Develop mining plans based on geological information to support short- and long‑range production goals.
- Participate in engineering feasibility studies to define mining methods, equipment selection, and site facilities.
- Assist in preparing detailed ore reserve estimates.
- Monitor mining methods and equipment to improve performance.
- Optimize mining methods and procedures to maximize productivity and extraction rates.
- Support the design of mine ventilation, waste dumps, and stockpiles.
- Recommend actions to eliminate production problems, improve safety, operational efficiency, and reduce costs while protecting the environment.
- Collaborate with geologists and assist in engineering phases of exploration and development.
- Monitor mine ventilation and air quality at working sites.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or related discipline and three (3) years of related engineering experience; OR
- Master’s degree in Mine Engineering or related discipline and two (2) years of related engineering experience.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mine Engineering.
- Ability to research and analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience with mine planning and scheduling software.
The estimated annual pay range for this role is $87,500–$120,000
, reflecting base salary only. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment based on performance.
