Reclamation Project Coordinator
Hiring Salary Range: $98,000 - $124,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education and/or skill level.
Job DescriptionResponsible for a diverse range of reclamation and mine-related projects that are based on sound engineering, financial, and safety principles. As required, will undertake permitting support and review, project oversight, invoice verification, and safety review.

- Promotes safety via work products and by example.
- Develops and maintains effective communications and relationships with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinates and directs work with outside consulting, engineering, and construction firms; acquires services of consultants and subcontractors as needed.
- Assists in regulatory permitting as needed and maintains an up‑to‑date file structure of mine permits and documents.
- Conducts capital construction project justifications.
- Reviews and submits project change orders as needed.
- Responsible for project oversight and reporting for new and existing mine‑related projects.
- Understands and promotes process improvement and change initiatives.
- Because Tri‑State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of job duties and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.
- Because of limited on‑site staff, the ability to work outside of work hours when required is considered an essential function of the job.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related engineering field, or 10 years of experience in surface mining.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to give multimedia presentations to a diverse audience.
- Experience in regulatory permitting a plus.
- High initiative and good work ethic.
- Ability to multitask and deal with complex issues.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of AutoCAD/Carlson and Microsoft Suite.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in the coal mining industry with a proven record of successful, independent, and increasingly important job accomplishments; surface coal mining experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification desired but not required.
