Position Summary
A growing industrial technology and manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Controls & Electrical Testing Technician to join its engineering, manufacturing, and quality team. This is a highly hands-on position responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and final quality validation of custom-engineered industrial systems prior to customer delivery.
The Senior Technician will serve as a technical resource for electrical and controls testing, working with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation, control panels, power distribution equipment, and industrial mechanical systems
. This individual will troubleshoot complex issues, interpret engineering documentation, identify non-conformances, support corrective actions, and ensure equipment meets design and operational requirements.
The ideal candidate brings strong industrial troubleshooting experience and is comfortable moving between electrical testing, controls troubleshooting, instrumentation, mechanical systems, and quality verification

- Lead and perform functional testing of industrial electrical systems ranging from 24
VDC through 480
VAC
. - Conduct comprehensive electrical verification and final quality inspections before equipment is released for shipment.
- Perform continuity, voltage, resistance, insulation resistance, and functional testing.
- Utilize Fluke multimeters, Megger insulation testers, Hi-Pot testers, clamp meters, and process instrumentation/calibration equipment
. - Verify proper operation of PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motor-control systems, control panels, power-distribution equipment, and instrumentation.
- Review test procedures and ensure equipment is tested in accordance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for complex electrical testing and troubleshooting issues.
- Troubleshoot PLC, VFD, motor control, power distribution, instrumentation, and industrial control systems
. - Diagnose complex electrical and controls problems using schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, technical documentation, and diagnostic equipment.
- Verify operation of relays, contractors, sensors, actuators, switches, transmitters, and other control devices.
- Identify whether failures originate from electrical, controls, instrumentation, mechanical, or installation issues.
- Make appropriate adjustments and repairs or coordinate corrective work with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
- Support equipment startup and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical guidance to less-experienced technicians when troubleshooting difficult systems.
- Perform detailed final inspections and testing to verify equipment conforms to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Complete QC hold-point inspections and verify manufacturing workmanship.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances
. - Support root-cause investigations and corrective-action activities.
- Maintain accurate test results, inspection records, punch lists, and equipment documentation.
- Compare completed equipment against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Help identify recurring manufacturing or testing issues and recommend process improvements.
