Ground Support Equipment Director

In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of Ground Support Equipment from proposal through engineering and on to delivery and operations support.
- The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to support the manufacturing, assembly, testing, transportation, and handling of our LM Space Products.
- The GSE Director will be responsible for strategy, staffing, execution and affordability for all Ground Support Equipment across LM Space including ensuring strong ties between E&T, Operations, Ignite and the Line of Business Programs.
- Some travel (~10-15%) will be required.
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
- 10+ years of highly effective leadership experience with a proven ability to manage through complex technical and programmatic environments.
- Project and/or Program management / leadership experience with demonstrated ability to meet cost, schedule and technical objectives.
- Experience with Ground Support Equipment, ATLO (Assembly, Test, & Launch Operations) and/or Production Operations.
- Experience supporting proposals including developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and staffing projections.
- Experience interfacing with company executives, customers and suppliers.
- Experience as a leader of leaders.
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET / SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven track record of successfully interacting with cross functional teams.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Control Account Management (CAM) experience.
- Experience in engineering project management including engineering release, cost, and schedule tracking such as Windchill, ePDM, CREO.
- Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts.
- Active or Current TS/SCI clearance.
