You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT, FLEET TECHNICIAN SUPPORT DIVISION (Code 210.1B) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

Help
  • You will analyze and evaluate various programs to determine future workload and resource requirements.
  • You will plan work, set priorities, and prepare schedules for subordinates.
  • You will oversee and manage technical engineering work.
  • You will build connections with support activities and help guide others on policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • You will identify and coordinate development and training needs of subordinates.
  • You will offer guidance, help address complaints, and take disciplinary action if necessary.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position requires evening and weekend work.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of Navy surface craft or submarine electronic systems, or weapons and weapon control systems, or hull, mechanical and electrical systems to provide fleet technical assistance;

communicating well orally, in writing, and electronically; and developing and conducting briefings.
