In this entry-level role, you will support the planning and design of surface water and stormwater infrastructure that improves communities across the Northwest and Intermountain West. Responsibilities include assisting with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, preparing plans, reports, and cost estimates, supporting floodplain and drainage studies, and helping with permitting and construction-phase services.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and design of surface water and stormwater infrastructure projects
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using civil and water resources software
- Prepare engineering reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Support floodplain analysis, drainage studies, and erosion control design
- Collect, analyze, and interpret field and GIS data for water resources projects
- Coordinate with senior engineers, planners, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Assist with permit preparation and compliance documentation for water projects
- Support construction phase services including submittal review and field observations
- Collaborate with clients and agencies under direction of senior staff
- Contribute to quality control, documentation, and project delivery processes
Required Skills
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM or similar)
- Civil design software (e.g., Civil 3
- D or similar CAD tools)
- Stormwater and drainage system design
- GIS mapping and spatial data analysis
- Technical report writing and documentation
- Reading and preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Data analysis and spreadsheet skills (e.g., Excel)
- Knowledge of surface water, floodplain, and erosion control principles
- Basic project coordination and time management skills
- Regulatory awareness of stormwater and water resources standards
