Circuit Design Engineering Associate Manager

Join us as a Circuit Design Engineering Associate Manager and become a member of the US Navy's Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Avionics team.

Location:

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton CO, and be expected to work in the office.

What does this role look like? The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. As a Circuit Design Engineering Associate Manager, you will lead the development of Avionics Packages for the Initiation and Preset Subsystem for the D5LE2 Trident II Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

  • Provide leadership on a fast-paced team from requirements through development and production.
  • Be responsible to assure coordination between functional groups during the product development life cycle.
  • Communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the customer.
  • Conducting personnel management for a portion of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Tactical Avionics team
  • Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, and training.
  • Responsible for performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Participate in technical reviews and audits.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • Project leadership experience in electronics hardware design with a track record of success in meeting technical, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or equivalent), thus US Citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Electronics hardware design, development and test experience of avionics electronics, at the circuit card and unit level.
  • Project leadership in electronics hardware design.
  • Experience in the development including product ownership responsibility for missile, space, or equivalent high reliability applications.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or equivalent), thus US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with a combination of design, test, operations and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated good communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Adaptable to new situations and demonstrate self-initiative in solving complex problems.
  • Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Avionics Architecture (physical / functional).
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics.
  • Aerospace experience supporting development of Flight Hardware.
  • Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or Responsible Systems Engineering (RSE) experience.
  • Missile System design experience.
  • Supply chain technical oversight experience including proposal support and technical evaluations.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronics packaging.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications skills are required, with an ability to address diverse audiences, such as customer reviews, management meetings, etc.
