Summary/Objective
The Mortgage Post Closing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all post-closing activities for mortgage loans. This role serves as the primary point of contact for post-closing and loan boarding inquiries. They review all executed funding packages for accuracy, complete the boarding process, and file loan files and final documents. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
EssentialFunctions
- Acts as primary contact for all post‑closing/boarding questions on mortgage loans
- Returns all phone calls in two hours or less
- Completes boarding within 48 hours maximum of receipt of executed closing documents from title
- Prepares loan file stacking list for DMI
- Updates boarding worksheets for DMI and accounting, must be completed the same day as loans are boarded
- Verifies daily that loans sent to DMI are boarded properly into Core system
- Completes auto‑pay forms and faxes them to DMI upon receipt of executed closing package
- Follows up with members and/or title for any missing documentation as required
- Completes data entry for all closed loan surveys in IHM system, makes a copy for file and sends original to management
- Files all final documents
- Completes all required data fields in IHM system for tracking purposes
- Acts as back up for loan setup, closing and verification of loan funding as volume warrants
- Adheres to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
This role does not have supervisory responsibility.
Required Skills,Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of first‑mortgage closing or post‑closing experience in conventional, FHA and VA loans
- Ability to interact with others in a positive manner, either in person or by phone
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data and update member records via computer terminal
- Ability to work independently, utilize available resources and excel in a high‑performance culture
- Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
- Full time / 40 hours per week
- Non‑Exempt
The person hired into this position will likely earn between $23.63 and $29.54 per year, plus an annual bonus. The starting salary will be adjusted based upon experience.
