Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $45.00 to $55 .00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update standard cost structures for labor materials and overhead within financial systems.
- Analyze cost variances related to production payroll and inventory and identify key drivers of differences.
- Perform labor and payroll reconciliations to ensure alignment between actual and expected costs.
- Prepare journal entries and support month end close activities including inventory and work in process reporting.
- Partner with operations and project teams to validate cost assumptions and improve overall cost accuracy.
- A Bachelor degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of standard costing variance analysis and inventory valuation.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly to both finance and operational stakeholders.
- Use Excel effectively to analyze data and support reporting requirements.
- Support system implementation efforts with data validation testing and process alignment activities.
- Identify trends in labor and overhead costs and recommend updates to improve costing models.
- Apply strong analytical and reconciliation skills to ensure accuracy in financial data.
- Collaborate across departments to translate financial insights into operational improvements.
- Bring experience with enterprise systems and continuous improvement initiatives considered beneficial.
