Location: Towaoc
Summary/Objective The Vault Cashier is responsible for the secure handling, reconciliation, and distribution of large volumes of casino funds within a highly regulated and restricted-access environment. This role serves as a critical safeguard of casino assets by ensuring all vault operations are performed with precision, integrity, and strict adherence to internal controls and gaming regulations. Success in this position is defined by exceptional accuracy, procedural discipline, and the ability to operate confidently under dual control and heightened accountability while supporting uninterrupted gaming operations.
Key Accountabilities Vault Operations & Bulk Cash Handling:
Receive, count, verify, and store large volumes of currency, coin, and gaming instruments within the casino vault. Ensure all vault transactions are processed accurately, securely, and in accordance with internal controls and gaming regulations.
Dual Control, Security & Asset Protection:
Perform all vault activities under dual custody and strict segregation of duties. Maintain constant awareness of security protocols to safeguard high-value assets and prevent loss, theft, or procedural breaches.
Replenishment & Cage Support:
Prepare and issue cash drawers, banks, and replenishment funds to Cage Cashiers, Imprest Cashiers, and other authorized departments. Ensure timely and accurate distribution and receipt of funds to support continuous casino operations.
Vault Reconciliation & Discrepancy Resolution:
Balance vault inventories daily by reconciling all incoming and outgoing funds. Investigate and report discrepancies immediately in accordance with established escalation procedures.
System Use & Transaction Documentation:
Accurately record all vault transactions using approved financial and cage systems. Ensure all documentation is complete, legible, and audit-ready for internal, external, and regulatory review.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Readiness:
Maintain compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, internal controls, and AML requirements. Ensure vault operations remain fully transparent and defensible during audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
Cash Flow Monitoring & Reporting:
Monitor vault balances and cash flow levels to ensure sufficient liquidity for gaming operations. Communicate funding needs or unusual trends to Vault Shift Supervisor or Cage Management.
Coordination with Count, Finance & Security:
Work collaboratively with the Count Team, Finance & Accounting, and Security to ensure smooth cash movement, timely deposits, and secure handling of funds across departments.
Procedural Adherence & Operational Discipline:
Follow all SOPs, internal controls, and regulatory standards without deviation. Remain current on procedural updates, system changes, and required training.
Professional Conduct in a Restricted-Access Environment:
Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism at all times while operating in secure, surveillance-controlled areas with heightened accountability.
General Expectations Flexibility for Additional Responsibilities:
Perform all other tasks as assigned, remain adaptable and ready to adjust to the evolving needs of the Ute Mountain Casino/Hotel.
Technology Utilization:
Maintain a strong understanding of technological systems relevant the casino and hotel. Possess and regularly use an ability to employ such systems to ensure organizational efficiency, competitiveness, and effectiveness.
Quality Assurance and Incorporation of Feedback:
Conduct regular personal audits of the quality and reliability of service delivery in your field. Professionally receive and incorporate feedback from customers, supervisors, and staff. Adopt the mindset of continuous improvement.
