Investment Leader, Private Equity Technology
Location:
Broomfield, US
Partners Group is seeking to hire an Investment Leader (Vice President) to join the Technology team. The Technology team invests in companies typically between $500 million - $2 billion in enterprise value. The team does both growth and buyout transactions and we are thematic in our sourcing.
Responsibilities:
- Source, execute and lead direct investments in technology businesses in the Americas
- Manage quantitative and qualitative due diligence, including oversight of team-members and third-party advisors
- Develop and review valuation analyses, lead the preparation of investment memoranda for, and present opportunities in, Investment Committee meetings
- Lead review and negotiations of legal transaction documentation (e.g., SPA, SHA, MIP, etc.), including coordination of support from internal and external legal advisors
- Contribute to structuring and raising debt financing, together with Partners Group's Capital Markets team
- Actively engage with management teams and the boards of portfolio companies, including guiding the preparation of board materials and responsibility for certain post-closing value-creation initiatives
- Develop exit strategy for portfolio companies and manage exit activities on a day to day basis (e.g., IPO or sell side process)
- Manage relationships with key investment stakeholders, counter parties and partners
- Recruit, lead and mentor junior transaction-professionals in and outside of investment processes
- Contribute to Partners Group's client related activities (e.g., "pitches", updates, reporting, etc.)
What we expect:
- Pivotal experience & expertise:
At least 6+ years of private equity experience with a focus on the technology vertical, typically preceded by 2-3 years of investment banking experience - Strong understanding of the technology landscape and top software categories, and deep understanding of the software and SAAS business, ecosystem and revenue models
- Superior business judgment in holistically assessing investment opportunities – market trends, strategic dynamics, company performance and quality of management teams
- Ability to "manage up and down" in coordinating investment processes, while ensuring high-quality execution
- Have superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate and execute strategic initiatives;
Education and/or prior work experience in a technical discipline (computer science, data science) is a positive - Culturally able to work in a highly collegial environment and be comfortable with a shared decision-making processes and collaborative approach
- Be in control of one's ego and be focused on the shared success of the organization and its investors vs. solely personal goals
- Be a team player who is just as prepared to do the associate's work when needed as his/her own work
- Be able to forge meaningful relationships with colleagues and portfolio company executives creating an environment of open and trusting communication
- Be a self-starter, who can interact collaboratively, but operate independently as required
- Have acute organizational and communication skills, coupled with a high level of maturity and professional presence
- Capable of driving consensus at all levels in order to build a thesis that supports the investment model, with an efficient, effective, proactive plan that can support growth and change
- Be flexible and fluid enough to promote change; be a visionary able to develop and implement "best practices"
- S/he must possess unquestionable integrity and professionalism

Partners Group compensation has a long-term outlook and philosophy, and our total compensation emphasizes performance based long term incentives. Base pay range for this role is $250,000 – 275,000 and a performance-based bonus and equity are additional parts of the total compensation package.
