This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to lead, develop, and expand our tax strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, with a proven track record of managing complex tax issues and projects.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in our company's financial planning and decision-making processes. Responsibilities As a Permanent Lead Tax Manager, you will:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the company. This includes federal, state, and local tax returns, estimated tax payments, and extensions.
2. Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings.
3. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
4. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations, and ensure the company is in compliance with all tax requirements.
6. Manage tax audits and inquiries, and negotiate with tax authorities as needed.
7. Provide expert tax advice to senior management, and support strategic decision-making with accurate and timely tax information.
8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
9. Review and approve all tax-related journal entries and account reconciliations. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Permanent Lead Tax Manager position will have: 1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
5. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
8. High level of integrity and professionalism.
