Grants Specialist IV
The Colorado State Patrol's Grants Management Office manages grants in support of the Colorado State Patrol's mission. This is accomplished by managing federal, state, local, and interagency grants throughout the grant life cycle. The unit interprets operational and financial data to identify and address agency problems and capitalize on business opportunities by applying professional grant management methodologies. The unit responds to funding requests, obtains, and provides information on grant funding from CSP members and state agencies.
The purpose of this position is to analyze, monitor, and report on programmatic and financial activities of grant-funded programs from multiple grantors, including federal, state, loan, and inter-agency. Programmatic responsibilities include assisting with or implementing grants administration oversight from application, pre-award, award, post-award, monitoring, and closeout activities. Financial management includes, but is not limited to, making payments or charges to internal and external grant customers, monitoring monthly accruals and notifying the grant project manager of any budget issues, preparing quarterly financial reports, ensuring proper documentation and records are maintained for audits, assisting in audit preparation, entering grant statistics into the appropriate database, preparing data for grant reporting, and performing other programmatic and financial grant duties as assigned.
To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following options for consideration. Seven (7) years of professional experience in grant management, which must include direct responsibility for grant administration (lifecycle management, contract management, sub-recipient monitoring, or compliance oversight) AND grant fiscal administration (budgeting, financial reporting, or reconcilliation). OR Education and Experience A combination of related education and/or full-time professional experience in grant management, which must include direct responsibility for grant administration (lifecycle management, contract management, sub-recipient monitoring, or compliance oversight) AND grant fiscal administration (budgeting, financial reporting, or reconcilliation) equal to seven (7) years.
