BURLINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The City of Burlington is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Police Officer in the Police Department. The Police Officer carries out the Mission of the Burlington Police Department by creating a feeling of security in our community. This position works under the direction of the Chief of Police and is responsible for protecting the Constitutional Guarantees to all persons;
protecting life and property, preserving public peace and order; creating partnerships throughout the community, preventing, detecting, and solving crime; facilitating the safe movement of people and vehicles, and rendering other emergency services as needed.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate’s Degree or higher strongly preferred.
- Two years of experience in law enforcement function may be substituted for education.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- Preference granted to applicants who have obtained Colorado P.O.S.T. certification.
The salary range for this position is $43,400 - $62,000 (DOQ) annually upon P.O.S.T. certification, plus benefits, based on qualifications. P.O.S.T. certified applicants are eligible for up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus distributed as follows: $1,000 upon hiring, $1,000 upon completion of field training program, and $1,000 on employment anniversary for first 3 years of service.
