Position Overview
As a Medical Assistant at our behavioral health facility in Edwards, Colorado, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to support patient care and medication services. This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while utilizing your clinical skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities Medication Management- Assist patients with self-administration of prescribed medications
- Observe, supervise, and document medication administration
- Maintain accurate medication counts and secure inventories
- Order refills and process medication changes promptly
- Notify providers of medication compliance concerns or issues
- Communicate regularly with nursing regarding patient medication routines
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Record vital signs and report abnormal findings to nursing staff
- Collect specimens according to established protocols
- Perform blood draws when certified and within scope of practice
- Enter accurate data into electronic medical records systems
- Support Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services
- Assist with ketamine services and other designated plus services
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for specialized procedures
- Monitor and document patient status during and after treatments
- Reinforce patient education regarding specialized treatments
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- High School diploma or GED with active Medical Assistant (MA) certification
- Qualification and training to legally dispense medication in Colorado
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with medications in a professional setting
- Behavioral health experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Professional communication with diverse populations
- Adaptability and positive approach to change
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Basic computer skills;
Microsoft Office and EMR knowledge preferred - Motivational interviewing and de-escalation skills
This position requires standing, walking, bending, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. You must be able to read labels, count medications efficiently, and open medication packaging without difficulty.
