Job Description:

* Ensures confidentiality of employee, patient, and hospital information.

* Cross-trains in admitting/emergency room for assistance as needed.

* Assigns diagnosis codes based on physician orders for various patient types.

* Reviews and updates assigned reports in timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Must be able to type 45-50 wpm, use various office equipment such as CRT, phones, copier, fax machine and printer. [Required]

* Medical terminology [Preferred]

* Basic understanding of UB92's and importance of hospital billing/collections process [Preferred]

Education:

* High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

* or equivalent

Work Experience:

* 1+ patient account experience preferred. [Preferred]
