Pay: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
SummaryPerforms laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.
Responsibilities- Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.
- Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
- Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Associate's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR, on or before 4/24/1995, be a high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official U.S. military medical laboratory training course and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. State licensure if required by law.
