Overview

$2,500 HIRING BONUS FOR FULL-TIME (Must be scheduled 30+ hours weekly)! Come join our awesome team as a full-time CNA with Senior Comm Unity Care of Colorado PACE in Eckert, Colorado. Senior Comm Unity Care of Colorado PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

Pay: $19.50 - $23.50 per hour based on previous work experience

Schedules: Full-time; 80 hours per pay period; 8 or 10-hour shifts; 4-5 days per week; days and times will vary; occasional weekends

Responsibilities

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing and assisting participants with activities of daily living, restorative and supportive care necessary to preserve participants living independently in the community. Acts as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. This position may require travel to participant homes.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Current License as Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) in the state of Colorado required
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working with the frail or elderly population required
  • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of principles, practices standards and techniques of a C.N.A.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
  • Knowledge of medical equipment how to use and maintain
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public
  • Ability to identify and recommend problem resolution
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation
Essential Functions
  • Consult daily with the Personal Care Supervisor to be updated on participant status and changes in plan of care
  • Under supervision of Home Care Manager and Personal Care Supervisor, assist participants in the home and day center with duties including:
  • Personal hygiene (skin, mouth, hair care, bathing/showering)
  • Assisting participants in and out of bed and with ambulation
  • Assisting with prescribed exercise taught by appropriate personnel
  • Preparing meals, including therapeutic diets, and assisting with meals and feeding
  • Assisting participants to the bathroom or with use of commodes, bedpans, or urinals
  • Assisting with medications ordinarily self-administered

Other duties taught by a health professional for a specific participant, such as taking vitals, changing colostomy bags, changing non-sterile dressings and non-sterile bowel and bladder hygiene care.

  • Assists participants with Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) including grocery shopping, cleaning, changing bed linens, laundry, meal preparation, and other routine household care as assigned
  • Assists with participant activities in the Day Center, including meal service and clean-up
  • Responsible for daily cleaning of the Day Center and keeping it clean according to infection control measures
  • Completes appropriate documentation of services provided following Senior Comm Unity Care policy
  • Follows all Senior Comm Unity Care policies and procedures and OSHA safety guidelines
