Key Responsibilities of a Med Surg/ED Float Nurse
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in both Med Surg and Emergency Department settings
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, treatments, and progress
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and protocols
Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions, including emergencies
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing care
Maintain accurate medical records while following hospital policies and safety standards
Float between Med Surg and ED units based on staffing needs

Requirements
Active Colorado or Compact RN license
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (TNCC preferred)
Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a Med Surg/Emergency Department setting
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
