Additional CompensationMedical Translation Spanish Certification (CHI or CMI) is valued and considered for additional compensation.
Education and Professional DevelopmentThe CPH Paid Education Program is available: tuition paid for the MA certification program in partnership with the Technical College of the Rockies. Employees may earn an RMA in 18 weeks while working for Cedar Point Health, receiving internship credits. Program start dates are rolling throughout the year and are available to Medical Assistant (MA) and Clinical Aide (CA) employees upon supervisor approval.

- Conduct pre‑visit planning by reviewing and updating patient electronic medical records prior to appointment and confer with provider regarding incomplete tests/consults or other orders.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and taking vitals, height and weight.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain exam room and treatment rooms; keep exam rooms stocked with supplies.
- Give injections and assist with EKGs, OB/GYN exams and other tests and office procedures as needed, and provide other patient care services as directed by physicians.
- Maintain sample medication records, administer medication upon physician order and respond to medication requests per practice protocol via fax, phone and e‑script.
- Triage, schedule same‑day appointments, and respond to patient communication within practice policy.
- Assist providers with patient education and self‑management.
- Maintain courteous relationships with outside caregivers, insurance carriers, labs, hospitals, and pharmacies at all times.
- Perform other related work as required.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
- Skilled in developing and maintaining clinical quality assurance.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
- Ability to assist in a variety of common office procedures.
- Ability to maintain records and record test results.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Willingness to cover at different locations.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Must have experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience. - Mental and
Physical Requirements:
Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment and may require working under stressful conditions. - Conditions:
Normal office and exam room environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies, labs, hospitals and other members of the public on a regular basis. The position may cause exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
