Treatment Counselor

$29.81 per hour

, we do more than manage inmates, we care for people. Core Civic is currently seeking Treatment Counselor who has a passion for making lasting changes in the lives of offenders, as we set the standards of care in the industry.

• Interviews and obtains assessments of prospective program participants, gathering data using appropriate screening instruments, establishing rapport, and determining individual and group needs.
• Facilitates individual and group treatment interventions in accordance with partner agencies and state regulations, using assessment information to develop treatment plans.
• Promotes participant engagement in the treatment process, encouraging positive attitudes and coping skills, managing behavioral issues with appropriate tools.
• Maintains confidentiality of clinical files such as intake documents, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and referrals in compliance with protocols and laws.
• Documents and tracks treatment plans, monitors inmate progress, and reviews status of inmates/residents to verify completion of programs.

2025 Core Civic Benefits Overview

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field.
• One year of experience in mental health or substance use counseling.
• Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year‑for‑year basis.
• Must possess Colorado Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) certification.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age: 18 years.
