Description

Reports To: Director of Retail Pharmacy

FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Non Exempt, Hourly $18.00-$21.00

Essential Functions:

  • HIPPA Compliance.
  • Provide clerical and technical assistance in the development, management, and operation of the Pharmacy to effectively and efficiently serve patients in the community.
  • Operate the Pharmacy business systems according to established procedures and standards, to include ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, inventory, and billing.
  • Assist in the receipt, processing, and dispensing of orders from prescribers according to established procedures and standards.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of appropriate records and reports according to established procedures and standards, and as directed.
  • Prepare insurance summaries;
    Audit procedures; order entry in computer system; third‑party claims submission and reconciliation and unit‑dose packaging.
  • Assist in the efficient operation of the department; participate actively in relevant department activity; provide suggestions on the development and operation of the Pharmacy; collaborate with other staff/administration in the development, management, and operation of the department and the program.
  • Maintain computer‑based systems.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Receive prescriptions from patients enduring the validity of such.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic drug handling procedures in accordance with laws and regulations.
  • Recommend methods to improve pharmacy services.
  • Perform other special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain and demonstrate responsibility for self, and with respect to the effects and results of acts and efforts related to the program and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of recent office and/or business systems experience; one of which as a Pharmacy Technician with telephone and in‑person contact/transactions with patients or customers.
  • Ability to type accurately with moderate speed, and the ability to work/complete tasks accurately and individually and with minimal supervision.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Colorado or the ability to secure a provisional license. Alternatively, successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician program conducted by the Department of Health Services or successful completion of a junior college or collage Pharmacy Technician program approved by the Department of Health Services.
