- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care standards
- Minimum of Three (3) years of experience as Certified Medical Assistant required
- Prior experience in a fast-paced primary care or multi-specialty setting preferred
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Current National Certification required (e.g., CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Certification must be current and in good standing
- Strong leadership and training abilities
- Advanced clinical knowledge and technical skills
- Excellent problem-solving and workflow optimization skills
- Ability to adapt across multiple providers and specialties
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Room patients and prepare for examination
- Obtain and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
- Record patient medical histories and update electronic health records (EHR)
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, and specimen collections
- Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients
- Manage patient workflow to ensure efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Schedule appointments and assist with front office duties as needed
- Work collaboratively with team to manage all staff and provide inboxes to ensure timely responses to patients
- Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Train and mentor new or entry-level Medical Assistants
- Assist in developing, implementing, and improving clinical workflow and processes
- Collaborate with providers and leadership to enhance clinic efficiency and patient care
- Support specialty providers and adapt to varying clinical workflows across specialties
- Serve as a resource for clinical best practices and troubleshooting
- Perform advanced clinical tasks within scope of practice
- Medical Assistants are expected to support providers in seeing a minimum of 15 patients per provider per day
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency while working in a high-volume setting
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and strong communication skills
- Must participate in staff and educational meetings
- Act as a liaison between clinic and local/consulting providers offices to foster cooperative relationships and problem solve issues regarding the clinic.
Exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly, frequently standing, walking, bending and sitting. Exposure to bodily fluids.
