Requirements- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be currently enrolled in or planning to attend a Medical Assistant training program.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required
- At least one (1) year of work experience in any field
- Must be at least 18 years old to work in the clinic.
- 1-2 years as a certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Customer service, healthcare, or administrative experience is a plus but not required
- Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required
- If not currently certified as a Medical Assistant willing to obtain in the future
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and basic management software
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Basic computer skills;
Word and Excel are required - Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take direction
We are seeking a motivated and reliable entry-level Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced primary care clinic. This role supports providers in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a high-volume environment. No certification is required; however, candidates must be willing to learn and grow within the role.
- Room patients and prepare for examination
- Obtain and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
- Record patient medical histories and update electronic health records (EHR)
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, and specimen collections
- Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients
- Manage patient workflow to ensure efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Schedule appointments and assist with front office duties as needed
- Work collaboratively with team to manage all staff and provide inboxes to ensure timely responses to patients
- Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Medical Assistants are expected to support providers in seeing a minimum of 15 patients per provider per day
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency while working in a high-volume setting
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and strong communication skills
- Must participate in staff and educational meetings
- Act as a liaison between clinic and local/consulting providers offices to foster cooperative relationships and problem solve issues regarding the clinic.
Exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly, frequently standing, walking, bending and sitting. Exposure bodily fluids.
