Job Summary:
The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery (Department) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for the full time position of Director of Audiology. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. This senior leadership position will be responsible for building and sustaining a premier academic Audiology Program at the University of Colorado Hospital and its satellite facilities and within the Department in the School of Medicine.
The Director of Audiology will be responsible for expanding educational and research opportunities on-campus, community collaboration, and facilitating innovative programs and clinical trials to provide the highest level of Audiology care in Colorado. The Director of Audiology will participate in clinical audio logic care on a part-time basis. An audiologist with clinical and administrative experience and a track record in clinical, translational and/or outcomes research and graduate education is preferred.
The Department's mission is to provide outstanding, cutting-edge clinical care, research, and state-of-the-art training. Our group of highly trained audiologists works in partnership with the otologic surgical faculty to offer a full range of adult and children's services for deaf, hard-of-hearing and dizzy patients. We see over 14,000 patient visits per year at the University of Colorado Hospital. The Audiology Service through the University of Colorado Hospital has 17 audiologists on staff.
Additionally, there are 3 audiologists providing services at the CU Medicine Otolaryngology-Audiology practice located in Highlands Ranch, CO. Services provided include the full range of audiology, including diagnosis of hearing loss, rehabilitation, and vestibular evaluations. Graduate student education is a part of our Audiology Program with trainees from the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the Boulder Campus and other universities for their 4th year clinical experience.

Examples of Work Performed The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Development of innovative programs and clinical trials in hearing health care Partner with Otology Surgical faculty to grow the otologic surgical practice (e.g. cochlear implant program) Develop auditory translational research activities in the School of Medicine Compete for local and national grant funding from NIH and auditory device companies Develop partnerships with hearing device companies and other industry partners to support clinical trials and innovation Oversee otolaryngology resident teaching in audiology Collaborate with the SLHS Department at CU Boulder in coordinating clinical teaching for audiology graduate students
