At Assisting Hands Littleton, we believe great caregiving is about more than completing a checklist. It's about knowing when to offer a helping hand, when to simply sit and listen, and how to turn an ordinary afternoon into a good one.

We're looking for a compassionate caregiver to support a wonderful client living with memory loss:

Weekday Caregiver:
Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–8:00 PM

This is a wonderful opportunity for a caregiver who enjoys building a genuine relationship with a client and becoming a familiar, trusted part of their daily routine.

What Your Time Together Will Look Like

Your role will be centered around helping our client feel safe, supported, and respected while encouraging as much independence as possible. You could possibly provide:

• Personal care and assistance with daily routines
• Companionship and meaningful conversation
• Memory care support with patience, reassurance, and gentle redirection
• Assistance with meals, snacks, and afternoon/evening routines
• Encouragement and engagement throughout the shift
• Assistance with maintaining a safe and comfortable environment
• Support as the client transitions from the afternoon into their evening routine
• A reassuring and supportive presence for both the client and their family

And sometimes, the most important thing you'll do is simply slow down, be present, and meet the person where they are.

This client has cats in the home, so you'll need to be comfortable working around cats.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with individuals experiencing memory loss.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience in a facility or with an in-home care agency
• Experience caring for someone with Alzheimer's, dementia, or another memory-related condition
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Three professional references
• TB test within 30 days of hire
• Excellent communication skills
• A patient, compassionate personality and a genuine heart for older adults
• Comfortable working in a home with cats
