Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and calibrate sleep study equipment according to established protocols.
• Set up polysomnography equipment and apply electrodes and sensors to patients.
• Educate patients on sleep study procedures and address concerns.
• Monitor patients during sleep studies and note any abnormalities.
• Implement physician-ordered instructions and interventions.
• Document and summarize sleep study data accurately for analysis.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform PAP mask fitting as necessary.
• Maintain sleep monitoring equipment calibration.
• Respond to patient needs during overnight monitoring.

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification from BRPT preferred.
• Certified Sleep Technician (CCSH) from AASM acceptable.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of AASM-accredited sleep technician program (typical 1-2 years).
• 1+ year clinical sleep laboratory experience OR 200+ documented sleep studies.
• Completion of polysomnography technician training program.
