Location: Walsenburg
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will provide high‑quality speech therapy services to patients in a collaborative healthcare environment while building strong relationships with patients, families, and facility staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about improving communication, swallowing, and cognitive abilities while delivering patient‑centered care with professionalism and empathy.
Pay: $50.83 per hour. PRN as needed position.
Patient Care & Therapy Services- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Perform screenings and assessments for appropriate patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and accurately document outcomes
- Communicate patient needs and progress with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide education and support to patients and caregivers
- Build positive working relationships with facility staff and healthcare professionals
- Participate in care planning meetings, family conferences, utilization reviews, and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists (PTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and other rehabilitation professionals
- Help develop and implement innovative therapy programs and techniques
- Educate staff and community members about speech therapy services
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, patient rights, infection control, and safety procedures
- Stay current with industry trends, clinical best practices, and continuing education
- Maintain active state licensure and professional certifications
- Hold a master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology (may be dually certified in audiology)
- Hold a valid state license
- Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees, and administration
- Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job‑specific immunizations
- Required to submit to a two‑step PPD test
- If driving, a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured as a facility driver
