Hotel Housekeeping
The Timberline is a small, independent motel on Harrison Avenue in Leadville, Colorado — at 10,200 feet, in the heart of one of Colorado's most historic mountain towns, with skiing, hiking, biking, and 14ers out the door. We're hiring for a year-round hybrid role that splits the week between guest experience and housekeeping, and it comes with a private apartment on property.
If you like variety in your week, take pride in a clean room, and are good with people by text and in person, this is a good one.
About the RoleTwo days a week, you're our Guest Experience Manager: the person guests text, call, and meet. You handle check-ins and check-outs, keep guest bills clean in Mews, open the front office and shop in the afternoon, light the fire pits, and answer the phone overnight if someone gets locked out. These are on-call days built around four hours in the office (9:30–10:30 AM and 3:30–6:30 PM);
outside those hours, you're free to be off property as long as you can respond within 30 minutes.
Three days a week, you're on the housekeeping and laundry team: turning rooms, running linens, restocking, and making sure each room meets our standard before it's marked ready. Housekeeping shifts run 9:30 AM–3:30 PM.
Because you work both sides, you'll understand the property better than almost anyone here.
Pay, Schedule & Housing- Guest Experience days (2 per week): $150 per day
- Housekeeping days (3 per week): $16 per hour
- Paid bi-weekly; five days a week, with the mix of days set with the team and shifting by season
- Housing: a private apartment on property at 216 Harrison Avenue, utilities and internet included
- $30 monthly phone stipend
- Start: early-to-mid October, or mid-November if you need to relocate — flexible for the right person
This is a year-round position. Summer and winter are busy; spring and fall are slower, and we're happy to work around travel and time off in the quiet stretches.
What a Guest Experience Day Looks Like- Morning: review check-outs, close bills in Mews, confirm the cleaning list with housekeeping, reply to anything that came in overnight
- Midday: stay reachable by phone and text; keep an eye on room status
- Afternoon: staff the office and shop, inspect rooms before check-in, make sure every arriving guest has their door code, keep the arrivals sheet current, set out blankets and s'mores kits, light the fire pits
- Evening: be available for guest needs, power down the fire pits at 9 PM, reset the courtyard
Three things matter more than anything else on that list: every guest message gets a reply, the arrivals sheet stays current, and unknown numbers that text us get matched to their reservation.
What a Housekeeping Day Looks Like- Turn rooms after check-out to our standard, prioritizing same-day turns
- Run the laundry cycle — wash, dry, fold, restock — and keep the laundry room organized
- Restock room supplies, amenities, and mini bars
- Check each room before marking it ready in Mews
- Coordinate with the team and front office in Slack
Hello Hotel (calls and texts), Mews, Gmail, Slack, Remote Lock and Schlage door codes, and the Airbnb, Expedia, and inboxes. No experience with any of these is required. You do need to be comfortable learning software and using it every day.
Who Does Well Here- Warm with guests and clear in writing — most guest contact is by text
- Organized without being told to be
- Steady when a check-in goes sideways or three rooms need to turn at once
- Takes pride in a clean room and notices when something's off
- Likes Leadville, or thinks they would, and enjoys pointing people toward the good stuff
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to lift up to 50 pounds
We started The Timberline because we wanted a workplace that felt good to be in: fun, kind, and supportive. We want that to be obvious to every guest who arrives. If that sounds like a place you'd like to work, we'd like to hear from you.
