Century Group is working with a well known retail client south of the Denver metro area. Our client is in need of a strong Payroll Specialist who eventually wants to go into a management position. Local candidates only. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary between $55,000 to 68,000 per year.
Position:
Payroll and Benefits Administrator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll
- Review and approve W2 and direct deposits
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure correct benefit deductions.
- Audit monthly employer and employee benefit deductions by location.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries and concerns.
- Benefits Administration:
- Retrieve daily reports from the benefits portal and enter employee benefit deductions
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support HR team with various department projects and initiatives.
- Contribute recommendations for maintaining employee policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assist with recruiting and benefits duties.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of HR and payroll laws and best practices.
- Familiarity with benefits administration.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential issues.
- Strong understanding of record-keeping and reporting best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring compliance with critical payroll deadlines.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations.
- Organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and ethical integrity.
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional groups across the organization.
- Customer-service focus with a sense of urgency, maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers (employees), management, and external vendors
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, or related field (Preferred).
- Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll administration (Required).
- Experience in Ceridian Dayforce (Preferred).
- Multi-State payroll experience (Preferred).
