Director Of Global Payroll & Mobility

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Director of Global Payroll & Mobility, responsible for leading Quantinuum's global payroll operations, time and attendance administration, mobility programs, immigration processes, and relocation support.

This role will ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across a rapidly growing global workforce, while providing a seamless employee experience throughout payroll and mobility-related processes. The successful candidate will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Total Rewards, HR

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end global payroll operations across all countries and entities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Establish payroll governance, controls, audit processes, and operating procedures.
  • Manage payroll provider relationships and service delivery performance.
  • Partner with Finance on payroll accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Own global time and attendance processes and supporting systems.
  • Ensure integrity of employee time data and payroll integrations.
  • Monitor exception reporting and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Establish controls and audits to improve compliance and data quality.
  • Oversee global mobility programs, including international assignments, transfers, visas, and work permits.
  • Manage relationships with immigration counsel and mobility service providers.
  • Coordinate payroll, tax, and compliance requirements associated with cross-border employee movement.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations while supporting business mobility needs.
  • Manage global relocation programs and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee relocation benefits administration and employee support services.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, cost management, and employee experience.
  • Partner with Total Rewards, Finance, and Legal to support equity administration processes.
  • Ensure proper payroll treatment and taxation of equity transactions.
  • Support employee education and inquiries related to payroll impacts of equity awards.
  • Maintain compliance with global payroll, employment tax, and labor regulations.
  • Ensure payroll records and supporting documentation remain audit ready.
  • Lead internal and external audits related to payroll and mobility processes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary process changes.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payroll and mobility team.
  • Establish KPIs, SLAs, and reporting mechanisms to measure operational effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with executive leadership on operational risks, workforce planning, and growth initiatives.

You must have:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years managing global payroll operations and teams.
  • Experience supporting multi-country payroll environments.
  • Due to contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

We value:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll taxation, compliance, and audit controls.
  • Experience with ADP, Celergo, Workday, or global payroll platforms.
  • Experience supporting equity administration and payroll taxation.
  • Mobility, immigration, or expatriate administration experience.
  • Experience supporting a high-growth technology or public-company environment.
  • Strong analytical and process improvement capabilities.
