Job Description:

ITEC is looking for a talented Ground Systems Engineer to join our team. The GSE Provides real time, operational support to Air Force crews and contractor test teams for the operation and maintenance of system software and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

* Utilizes strong analytical and troubleshooting skills .

* Performs software maintenance support for Linux, AIX, SGI, PC, and associated switching, network, and communications circuits and equipment.
* Provides limited UNIX system administration support.
* Participates in software version testing and evaluation

* Provides maintenance and support for on-going systems, including monitoring of system performance and data backups.

* Shift work required.
* Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases.
* Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical ground malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support.
* Provides failure analysis of the performance of the ground telemetry data.
* Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements.
* Provides feedback to Software Depot on software problems.
* Provides limited SYBASE system administration support for multiple system databases.
* Assists Configuration Management in software upgrades and changes.
* Documents all software problems and follows up with accurate resolution.
* Interfaces with Space Force and contractor personnel to ensure proper operation of the SBIRS software and hardware and ensures the timely resolution to problems and/or deficiencies.
* Maintain Access Control and works closely with System Administrators to ensure proper system operation and that problems are resolved with minimal downtime.
* Identifies source of software problems and determines appropriate solutions.

* Software scripting.
* Must be willing and able to work a shift schedule, which includes weekends and holidays supporting 24x7 operations.
* Occasional travel to Boulder, CO and Colorado Springs, CO.
