The Role You're Considering
We are looking for an innovative and collaborative Mainframe Dev Ops Engineer to help lead modernization, automation, and Dev Ops transformation efforts across our ecosystem. In this role, you will design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, implement next-generation tools, and drive continuous improvement that accelerates development and deployment on mainframe platforms.

Your role- Design, build, and maintain Dev Ops pipelines tailored for Z environments.
- Install, configure, and migrate z/OS and USS systems to support modernization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Groovy and YAML.
- Oversee source code management, including repository structures and branching strategies using Git.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, build issues, and integration challenges.
- Partner with development, operations, and architecture teams to ensure seamless Dev Ops adoption.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship in Dev Ops best practices and tooling.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Implement and optimize Z Dev Ops tools including IDz, DBB, Wazi Deploy, and related components.
- Proven background in mainframe application development or system programming on Z.
- Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and migration of z/OS and USS systems.
- Proficiency with Dev Ops technologies, including:
Groovy, YAML, Git (repos, branching strategies), pipeline troubleshooting and debugging - Experience working with Z Dev Ops ecosystem tools such as: IDz, DBB, Git, Wazi Deploy, IDD, Artifactory, ADDI, zD&T
- Knowledge of Z languages and components, including: COBOL, CICS, PL/I, JCL, VSAM/QSAM, DB2
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $65,200 - $169,000. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting.
This range may be subject to change as permitted by law. The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction. These may include, but are not limited to:
Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity. It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
