Summary
Network infrastructure management: design, planning, upgrades, organization, monitoring, maintenance, and security thereof. VOIP system management. Server/service administration.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Management:
Install, configure, and maintain physical/virtual servers, networks, and storage to ensure high availability. - Security & Compliance:
Implement security measures (firewalls, patching, SSL) and manage Active Directory/identity systems. - Automation & Scripting:
Develop scripts (e.g., Power Shell, Python, Bash) to automate routine tasks and system updates. - Monitoring & Performance:
Proactively monitor system health (CPU, memory, network) to optimize performance and prevent outages. - Project Leadership:
Lead technology upgrades/migrations and disaster recovery projects. - Documentation & Mentoring:
Create comprehensive documentation and participate in mentoring junior administrator.
- Experience:
Generally 10+ years of systems administration or related systems/network engineering experience. - Core Expertise:
Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Domain Services, Linux, VMware, Cisco Catalyst, and network protocols (LAN/WAN). - Additional Desirable
Experience:
MSSQL, Windows File Services, PCI Compliancy, Ruckus & Meraki, Packet Fence, Cisco Call Manager. - Cloud & Virtualization:
Experience with Azure and AWS. - Scripting/Automation:
Proficiency in Power Shell, Python, or Bash. - Troubleshooting:
Expert-level diagnosis skills for critical system failures. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. - Security:
Understanding of the threat landscape and work with the team to raise security awareness to end users.
- Problem-solving and adaptability.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Leadership and project management.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex tasks.
- Willingness to be on-call on a rotating after-hours schedule.
- Awareness that we are a ski area, where operations dictate heightened availability during on-season.
- Ability to navigate the entire mountain proficiently on skis in Winter and motorized vehicle in Summer.
