As an IT Intern at Wagner Equipment Co., you will have a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in application development and business process automation across various functions and departments.

If selected for this role, you will obtain real-world experience in IT systems operations, business process applications and automation, exposure to cross-functional teams and enterprise-level systems. You will also receive mentorship from experienced IT professionals.

The IT Intern program will be approximately 20 weeks in length, ending at the end of 2026, and will report to the IT Development Manager.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Essential functions include:

  • Assist with the development, enhancement, and support of business applications and internal software solutions.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of automation workflows that improve business processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Participate in software testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution activities.
  • Assist in developing integrations between business systems, databases, and applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and support materials.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT personnel to gather requirements and validate solutions.
  • Support reporting, dashboard, and data management initiatives.
  • Participate in application deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve existing business processes through technology solutions.
  • Work on assigned development projects under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.

Required qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Currently pursuing a degree or recent graduate in:
    Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Basic programming experience through coursework, projects, or personal development.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Experience with Power Platform, SharePoint, Git Hub, or Azure Dev Ops is a plus.
  • Understanding of software development concepts and application lifecycle management.
  • Interest in software development, automation, systems integration, or data analytics.

  • Data entry, computer usage, telephone, reading, writing, reasoning, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
