What we are looking for:
As Product Manager for Security and Compliance, you'll define and drive how Stem's products meet cybersecurity and grid code obligations across every market we serve. Working within the product management team, you'll translate evolving regulatory standards into requirements, roadmap, and process.
You will:
- Understand cybersecurity and grid compliance requirements to ensure that Stem’s product offerings meet all necessary standards in the markets we operate in.
- Work with various functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop product requirements and roadmaps, collaborate with the Stem software development team on prioritization and product delivery, and support other teams on go-to-market strategy and sales enablement.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously research and interpret evolving cybersecurity and grid interconnection requirements across Stem's operating markets (e.g., IEC 62443, NERC CIP, NIS2, VDE 4110/4120, JC-Star, and emerging IoT certification)
- Translate regulatory and standards requirements into clear product requirements and acceptance criteria for engineering and development teams
- Own and prioritize the compliance roadmap based on market urgency, deployment risk, and revenue exposure, integrating it into Stem's broader product roadmap
- Determine which requirements apply to specific product layers (e.g., edge hardware vs. cloud/EMS) to scope compliance work accurately
- Partner with engineering, security, legal, and development teams to align on compliance scope and trade-offs against other priorities
- Serve as Stem's internal subject-matter expert on cybersecurity and grid compliance for sales, development, and customers responding to RFPs or audits
- Drive Stem's pursuit and maintenance of relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, IEC 62443) from a product perspective
- Benchmark Stem's compliance posture against competitors to identify gaps and differentiation opportunities
- Advise on which markets are unlocked or blocked by Stem's current compliance status
- Represent Stem in relevant industry standards bodies, working groups, or utility technical forums
