Our client seeks a Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and execute cloud infrastructure, application, and data rehydration activities across Azure and AWS. The role supports business continuity, enterprise security standards, disaster recovery, regulatory compliance, data restoration, and operational recovery requirements. The engineer will restore archived, backed-up, or tiered data while ensuring data integrity, system availability, operational efficiency, and adherence to service-level objectives.
The ideal candidate brings cloud infrastructure expertise, Dev Ops automation skills, troubleshooting capabilities, and operational excellence to orchestrate large-scale rehydration events, monitor recovery processes, and improve restoration procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and support cloud infrastructure services across Azure and AWS to ensure availability, reliability, and operational stability.
- Execute end-to-end data rehydration and recovery activities from cloud archival and backup services.
- Restore data from Azure Blob Archive Tier, Azure Backup, Azure Recovery Services Vault, AWS S3 Glacier, and other long-term storage solutions.
- Manage and optimize rehydration processes to meet defined SLAs and SLOs.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, and business teams during recovery events.
- Track and manage rehydration requests and communicate status updates throughout the restoration lifecycle.
- Validate data integrity, completeness, and accessibility following rehydration.
- Document rehydration activities, recovery outcomes, and operational lessons learned to support compliance, audit, and continuous improvement.
- Provide operational support for Azure services including AKS, App Services, Function Apps, Storage Accounts, VMSS, Virtual Machines, Key Vault, Logic Apps, and networking.
- Perform operational support for AWS services including S3, EC2, and storage recovery solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud platforms, storage, networking, and applications impacting retrieval operations.
- Develop automation using Python, Power Shell, Bash, or similar scripting languages to streamline rehydration workflows.
- Automate validation, reporting, and notification processes for rehydration operations.
- Build and maintain monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and reporting capabilities.
- Identify, analyze, and remediate performance bottlenecks affecting rehydration and recovery processes.
- Monitor storage utilization, recovery metrics, and operational KPIs.
- Deliver operational reports and trend analysis to support continuous improvement and stakeholder communication.
- Experience in cloud data rehydration and recovery operations.
- Hands-on experience with Azure storage services including Blob, Archive, Backup, and Recovery Services Vault.
- Experience with AWS S3 Glacier retrieval operations.
- CI/CD tooling experience with Git Hub Actions and Jenkins.
- Networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Cloud automation and scripting with Python, Power Shell, or Bash.
- Monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
- Kubernetes and AKS operations experience.
- Cloud security and access management knowledge.
- Incident response, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
- Operational excellence and process improvement mindset.
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication.
- Documentation and runbook development.
- Schedule management Monday through Thursday from 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM EST, with majority of work after 5:00 PM EST.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Dev Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.
