Underwriting Associate – National Accounts Property, Risk Management

• Underwrite renewal and new business risks within assigned authority
• Partner with Underwriters and maintain branch and broker relationships
• Perform underwriting analysis and documentation to determine risk acceptability
• Handle endorsement requests within delegated authority and refer exceptions to the Underwriter
• Manage assigned renewal books and triage renewal applications/specifications
• Liaise across the branch and CNA to resolve billing, collections, risk control and underwriting issues
• Maintain complete, compliant and high-quality files
• Execute advanced pricing strategies and document pricing rationale
• Complete quote proposals and negotiate with external partners within assigned authority
• Serve as first-line contact for producers/customers and identify upsell or account-rounding opportunities
• Assist in marketing products and services through external partners and make field visits
• Serve as a systems and workflow resource, including training, problem-solving and coaching
• Keep current on business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations and trends

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Typically, a minimum of three years of related work experience
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation
• Strong time management and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external business partners at all levels
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
• Capability to advise and coach others
• Customer service experience
• Ability to interact with a wide variety of people in person, via telephone and email
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software

Demonstrates expertise in Property and Casualty Underwriting, including risk analysis, pricing strategies, and policy processing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
