Overview
The District Attorney's Office is seeking an employee to process, review, and upload digital evidence from various law enforcement agencies. This person will be responsible for ordering reports and other evidence necessary to meet discovery obligations, ensuring the accurate and prompt flow of discovery to the appropriate parties.
This team is also responsible for urgent, time‑sensitive, detailed work. The ideal candidate will thrive under these circumstances and work well with their team.
This position comes with a Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. schedule, and excellent benefits including paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
The District Attorney’s Office follows a blind hiring process. ResponsibilitiesWhat you’ll be doing:
- Ordering and verifying media and reports to ensure completion of case files, including conducting media comparisons.
- Locating, requesting, securing, and storing evidence relevant to criminal investigations; maintaining accurate evidence records to preserve the chain of custody; and monitoring evidence viewing by defense attorneys.
- Redacting digital audio and visual evidence in accordance with office procedures.
- Participating in training sessions on the utilization of different law enforcement agency records and media management systems.
- Running criminal histories as needed.

What We're Looking For- Demonstrate knowledge of general office practices and procedures, with the ability to proficiently use standard software and business applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, representatives from other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Operate digital cameras, recording devices, and other communication tools essential for investigations.
- Possess knowledge of legal terminology and understand the application of federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning criminal investigation, chain of custody, evidence handling, and the service of process and subpoenas.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to clients and the public.
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and meet performance standards and objectives.
- One (1) year of experience in a law enforcement agency setting; experience with evidence handling or forensics preferred; previous experience in inventory management preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required. Completion of additional education or training in investigative techniques or evidence handling preferred.
- NCIC/CCIC certification within three (3) months of hire required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.

Supplemental InformationAn offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
