Material Planner

About the Role

The Material Planner I at Sierra Space ensures that materials required for production are available at the right time and in the right quantity. This entry‑level position combines analytical skills, inventory management knowledge, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems to support the manufacturing process.

• Plan and schedule procurement of materials to meet production requirements using ERP and MRP systems.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics to coordinate activities and address challenges in support of the production schedule.
• Analyze demand scheduling data to forecast material requirements, and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery while resolving quality, delivery, or pricing issues.
• Prepare and present reports on material planning and inventory performance to management and relevant stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Typically entry‑level position with 0–2 years of experience.
• Exposure to Purchasing Best Practices and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems for data analysis, reporting, and decision support.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification: APICS.
• Experience with SQL, Python, R, MS Project, Power BI, Tableau.
• Experience with SAP.

Pay Range: $60,773.00 – $83,561.75

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
