Resort Maintenance Supervisor

Island Hospitality Management is seeking an experienced Resort Maintenance Supervisor for our property. This role oversees the overall maintenance and upkeep of resort grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and utility systems while supervising team members.

This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate team member selection and development and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Follow up on work assignments to ensure efficient completion of work orders.
  • Perform water testing and maintain a well‑water system or on‑site water meters, including regular sampling.
  • Assist the maintenance team with property maintenance and repair of lawns, clubhouses, pools, streets, curbs, and landscaping.
  • Assist in selecting contract services and supervise on‑site contractors.
  • Complete regular inspections throughout the resort.
  • Prioritize and resolve service requests and maintain records of request types and frequency.
  • Collaborate with the Resort Manager to establish an emergency maintenance on-call schedule.
  • Perform duties safely, adhering to all safety procedures and using equipment properly.
  • Assist with directed maintenance issues.
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment logs and ensure proper maintenance of resort vehicles.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs.
  • Ensure safe storage of hazardous chemicals and equipment.
  • Prepare all maintenance logs in accordance with the Operations Manual.
  • Review exterior improvement and tree maintenance/removal requests.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies; purchase as needed with Manager approval while adhering to budget.
  • Meet with the Resort Manager daily to report on scheduled maintenance and notify of unsightly or hazardous conditions.
  • Issue rule reminders and violation notices and follow up as necessary.
  • Assist with the capital expenditure program, reviewing budget variances as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in general maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, pool, and grounds maintenance.
  • Proficiency in operating hand tools and power equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
  • Ability to respond to resort needs during non‑business hours.
Physical Demands

The employee is required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, lift and move up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds), and work regular hours that vary with occupancy and staffing.
