Custodian @ Middle Park High School

This position is responsible for the general cleanliness of the facility.

• Cleans assigned areas of the facility including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Performs trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitation duties regularly.
• Assists with snow removal from walkways and other areas not plowed, using sand around walkways for safety.
• Sets up facilities for both internal and external groups.
• Opens and closes the building as necessary.
• Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
• Recommends maintenance issues to the maintenance director when warranted.
• Ensures general security of all building entrances and occupants.
• Conducts building checks during winter months outside of the regular schedule.

Full‑time evening custodian

• 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities.
• Monday–Wednesday: 3 × 8‑hour shifts between 4 pm and 6 am (flexible).
• Thursday–Sunday: 16 hours, 4 pm Thursday–6 am Monday (flexible).

Part‑time custodian

• Up to 29 hours per week.
• Monday–Wednesday: 3 × 8‑hour shifts between 4 pm and 6 am (flexible).
• Thursday–Sunday: 16 hours, 4 pm Thursday–6 am Monday (flexible).

Weekend custodian

• Up to 40 hours per week.
• Thursday–Sunday: 16 hours, 4 pm Thursday–6 am Monday (flexible).

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

No experience required. Custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.

• Visual and auditory acuity.
• Hand and finger dexterity.
• Regular walking and standing on tile or cement floors.
• Regular bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
• Ability to climb, use ladders, and work overhead.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of 5–50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs., possibly 20 ft.
• Ability to work under fluorescent lights.
